Scott
Pool es actualmente director Académico de la “Academia y Festival de Música de
Talis” en Sarajevo, Bosnia y Herzegovina. Es, asimismo, Profesor Asociado de
Música en la “Universidad Texas A&M” de Corpus Christi, donde enseña Fagot
Aplicado y Música de Cámara. Es miembro fundador del Trio de alientos madera “Plumeria
Winds” y también forma parte de la facultad de música de cámara del “Festival
Internacional de Música Orfeo” (Italia).
Pool,
residente del sur de Texas, realiza frecuentes conciertos en su país y en el
extranjero con participaciones en numerosos festivales en ensamble y como solista.
Su pasión por enseñar y transmitir el conocimiento del fagot a las generaciones
más jóvenes se manifiesta en los logros de su estudio privado. Es reconocido
como “Artista Moosmann” por el maestro fabricante de fagotes, Bernd
Moosmann.
Las
actuaciones de Scott lo han llevado por América del Norte y del Sur, Europa y
Asia, programando tanto el repertorio estándar como nuevas composiciones para
el fagot. Como ávido defensor de la nueva música, Pool ha desempeñado un papel
activo en la comisión de más de 50 obras nuevas de compositores contemporáneos
emergentes y establecidos, incluidos Michel Lysight, Gernot Wolfgang, Miguel
del Aguila, Rafael Mevorach, Gene Pritsker, Katherine Hoover, Jenni Brandon y
Sunny Knable entre muchos otros.
Las

Pool se ha desempeñado como fagot principal con la “Orquesta Sinfónica de

Sinfónica de Victoria” (TX), la “Filarmónica de Las Vegas”, la “Orquesta
Sinfónica de Plano”. (TX), “Tucson Pops”, “Tucson Symphony Orchestra” y “Oklahoma
City Philharmonic”.

Scott
Pool currently serves as the Academy Director of the Talis Music Festival &
Academy in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is an Associate Professor of
Music at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi where he teaches Applied
Bassoon and Chamber Music. He is a founding member of the Woodwind
Trio Plumeria Winds and is also on the chamber music faculty of the Orfeo
International Music Festival (Italy). A resident of south Texas, Scott is a
frequent recitalist across the nation and abroad with appearances at numerous
festivals in addition to solo engagements.
His
passion for teaching and passing the knowledge of the bassoon to younger
generations is manifest in the accomplishments of his private
studio. Recognized as a Moosmann Artist by master bassoon maker,
Bernd Moosmann, Scott's performances have taken him throughout North and South
America, Europe and Asia, programming both the standard repertoire and new
compositions for the bassoon. As an avid proponent of new music,
Scott has played an active role in the commission of over 50 new works by both
established and emerging contemporary composers, including Michel Lysight,
Gernot Wolfgang, Miguel del Aguila, Rafael Mevorach, Gene Pritsker, Katherine
Hoover, Jenni Brandon and Sunny Knable among many others. Scott’s
festival performances include featured performances at Talis Music Festival
& Acemdy (Bosnia & Herzegovina), RioWinds (Brazil), Sound Waves
(Texas), the Festival of New American Music (California), and numerous
appearances at International Double Reed Society conferences.
His
Carnegie Hall debut was performed in May of 2022. Published recordings as
soloist can be heard on Alone: Unaccompanied Music for Solo Bassoon
(2020 MSR Classics) and Vocalise (2013, Mark). And as a chamber
artist: Song of the Redwood Tree: Bassoon Works of Sunny
Knable (2020, MSR Classics) The Woodwind Music of Robert Fruehwald, Vol.II
(2015) privately released, Revelations (2014, EPR), Eastern Discoveries (2014
MSR Classics), and Landscapes: The Double Reed Music of Daniel
Baldwin (2010, Mark).
He
has served as principal bassoon with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and the
Albany (GA) Symphony Orchestra, the Savannah Symphony Orchestra and has
performed with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and Victoria Symphony
Orchestra (TX), the Las Vegas Philharmonic, the Plano Symphony Orchestra (TX),
the Tucson Pops, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the Oklahoma City
Philharmonic. His primary bassoon teachers have been Carl Rath of
Appleton, Wisconsin and Will Dietz of Tucson, Arizona.
